I'll put our favorite record on, and sway like I'm in your arms.

I wanted to write a song from the perspective of a rockstar's significant other. I explored what it would feel like staying back while the rockstar goes on tour for months. The fear that they aren't being faithful while on the road, hoping they are missing you too, making sure they know you will be there when they call or return home.

Billy Purnell - Percussion
( VERSE )
Way down I go, this rabbit hole.
Can't get a rest, my mind is such a mess.
I feel it inside, two worlds collide.
Up among the clouds, I'm not coming down.
( CHROUS )
Into the blue.
It's beautiful and all so new.
Colors everywhere,
My hopes and dreams I can see em.
Won't you take me there?
( VERSE 2 )
I've been alone. No friends to call my own.
This ache in my back, I'm trying to keep myself on track.
It's all so tiring, this war I'm fighting won't crack.
So won't you take me there, that little paradise in the air.
( CHORUS )
Into the blue
where it's beautiful and all so new
The wind in my hair, flowers everywhere
I can see ‘em.
Can you feel ‘em?
( BRIDGE )
My mind it wonders there.
No fears or doubts in the air.
I drift away on a bright summers day.
Won't you take me there?
Won't you take me there?
Won't you take me there?
( CHORUS )
Into the blue
It's beautiful and so are you
It's all inside, don't let it hide
The blue's always been in you.
( ENDING )
Into the blue…
(Released 2020)
The inspo for this song was daydreaming. "The Blue" is the sky for me. I'm a big daydreamer when I'm a passenger in a car or on a plane. Looking at the clouds, listening to music, and just taking my mind to a happy place, thinking about my dreams. That's what I was trying to express in this song.
Sean Johnson - Bass, Keys
Billy Purnell - Percussion
(VERSE)
" It seems like everybody's got an opinion for what's wrong or right for me.
Everybody's looking for something to throw in my face, ain't it a shame?
No I won't let them take it away, my happy place no.
I know there will be a day where I can say I made it okay."
(CHORUS)
"So let their words fall down on me. They won't wash away my dream. It's just like rain, it'll go away. I know there will be a day when the sun will shine on me. Hey yeah yeah. The sun will shine on me."
(VERSE)
"The things they say can be so frustrating for me.
This cycle of words that are stuck in my brain, they won't go away.
Oh I could tell em to stop, push em all away and tell em I'm the boss of this pretty little train, that's on it's way to all the things I'm working for. Puttin' in my time and thanking the lord for giving me this day, and letting me say what I wanna say."
(CHORUS)
"So let their words fall down on me. They won't wash away my dream. It's just like rain, it'll go away. I know there will be a day where the sun will shine on me. Hey yeah yeah. The sun will shine on me."
(BRIDGE)
"So let em say what they wanna say, I'm not gonna listen to them anyway.
They can tell me what they want, what I should be doing. What I'm doing wrong, what I'm losing, the choices I'm making, the roads I'm taking to make my way to the top. Ahh ahhh
(SLOWED DOWN CHORUS)
" So let their words fall down on me. They won't wash away my dream. It's just like rain ,it'll go away. I know there will be a day."
(FINALE CHORUS)
" So let their words fall down on me. They won't wash away my dream. It's just like rain, it'll go away. I know there will be a day when the sun will shine on me.
This song is obviously about opinions, specifically not so great opinions lol. I don't really vibe with this song much anymore. One of those songs that I wish I could rewrite and reimagine but...you can't always get what you want. (Please tell me you read that like Mick Jagger)
Sean Johnson - Bass & Keys
Billy Purnell - Percussion
( VERSE 1 )
In my room at night, my own little hideaway.
Lying awake while my music plays.
Soft sounds of melodies pull me away from my worries.
I lie here wondering how I'm gonna have to say goodbye.
( VERSE 2 )
Like a butterfly, flying on my own time, that's how it's gonna be now.
Spread my wings and learn to fly, while my life just passes by.
The sun sets way down low.
And it's my time, I've gotta go.
( BRIDGE/CHORUS )
All of those things I should have said to you.
Now you're with her and there's nothing left for me to do.
I'm gonna walk on my own until
I find someone that's better than you.
And when I am gone I'm not gonna miss you.
( ENDING )
Now I lie here, knowing just what I'm gonna have to do.
(Released 2020)
This is the first song I ever wrote.
It's about when someone you have feelings for starts a new relationship and you waited too long to tell them how you feel. High School stuff blahhhhh
Sean Johnson - Bass, Keys
Billy Purnell - Percussion
Tyler Emerson - Violin
( INTRO )
"I'm going out of my mind, looking at all of these signs.
Am I going blind? The light it's bright I can see it in the dark night."
( VERSE 1 )
"Wouldn't it be so nice? To live my dream and do all the things I like.
On the road, going from show to show. The glitz, the glam, it could all be a scam
but I won't know till I try."
( CHORUS )
"So, I'm listening, learning, I'm taking advice from the legends, wondering is this
where I'm supposed to be going, and writing and giving my feelings away.
I'm gonna make it someday. Maybe in LA."
( VERSE 2 )
"Luck be a lady tonight. Give me the strength to push through with all my might.
I can see it now my name in lights so bright. I won't back down, the time is now, I won't give up the fight."
( CHORUS )
"So, I'm listening, learning, I'm taking advice from the legends, wondering is this
where I'm supposed to be going, and writing and giving my feelings away.
I'm gonna make it someday. Maybe in LA."
( BRIDGE )
"I don't know when but I know I'll get there in my own way.
I'll write a song and hope that you all sing along someday.
I don't know when but I know I'll get there in my own way.
I'll write a song and hope you all sing along someday."
( CHORUS )
"I'm listening, learning, I'm taking advice from the legends, wondering is this
where I'm supposed to be going, and writing and giving my feelings away.
I'm gonna make it someday. Maybe in LA."
(Released 2020)
This song is about the journey I'm on to reach my dream. A few little references in this song. They lyric "I'm taking advice from the legends" is inspired from a conversation I had with Laurent Brancowitz from the band Phoenix. We talked about music and one of the pieces of advice he gave me was "Learn about the masters and history".
Two other references I added were "Luck be a lady tonight" which is a nod to Frank Sinatra, and "Wouldn't it be so nice" as a nod to Brian Wilson.
Sean Johnson - Bass, Keys
Billy Purnell - Percussion
(VERSE)
"So here I go on this wandering road
One by one I'll walk "til I see the morning sun
All of the laughs are just ghosts from the past
I'll leave it all behind, push the stress out of my mind"
(CHORUS)
"Even though I try you're still stuck in my mind, all of the time
You won't go away, you still haunt me everyday
What else can I say?"
(VERSE)
"I remember you told me that we'd be in love always
Oh baby, the sun in my eyes, the ocean by our side
But darlin', darlin' you lied cause you're not by my side no more
I'm washed up on shore, my heart can't take it anymore"
(CHORUS)
"Even though I try you're still stuck in my mind, all of the time
You won't go away, you haunt me everyday What more can I say?"
(BRIDGE)
"The world is turning
My mind is whirling
These feelings inside
Can't hide
no more"
(Released 2020)
I wrote this song about the emotions you go through while recovering from a breakup.

Her dreamy, folk, and soul like music has been said to make listeners feel calm and relaxed. You most likely won't be able to resist the urge to sway back and forth! She grew up listening to various artists from the 60's & 70's. She strives to bring to life the feeling and sound of the Singer-Songwriter 60's & 70's era while also keeping it somewhat modern. You can feel and hear that she uses her songs almost like it's a diary. She shares her true thoughts and feelings through the music she creates. "Telling her story one lyric at a time" as she likes to say."

I recorded my single "Soaring In Love" in 2020/2021. It was released summer of 2021.
I was hired to remix and record a unreleased song/cover for a documentary called "Live From the Space Stage: A HALYX Story" by Defunctland on YouTube. The film tells the story of a forgotten sci-fi rock band, Haylx, that was put together by the Walt Disney Company and performed in Tomorrowland at Disneyland during the summer of 1981. My job was to record a song called "Hey There Boys" which Halyx used to play during their show and was never released due to the band being dropped by Disney after that summer. The cover of "Hey There Boys" was very well received. You can find my cover on my YouTube channel.

(Think of it like this: if you could only listen to 5 songs for the rest of your life, which 5 songs would you choose?). NOTE: By definition, a song = a piece of music with vocals, lyrics and music.1. "Expecting To Fly" by Buffalo Springfield
This song is very therapeutic for me. It either makes me tear up or gives me chills from the pure beauty of it. The string section! Are you kidding me?! You can feel the sadness and yearning through those violin tracks. Neil Young made something really special with this song.
-----
2. "Caroline, No" by The Beach Boys
Pet Sounds is a very important album for me, to the point where I wanna get a tattoo in it's honor lol.
"Caroline, No" specifically just clicks with me. I mean come on "Where is the girl I used to know?", that hit me hard.
Growing up and going through different emotions and experiences really changes someone. You reach points where you feel like a whole different person than you were 5 or 10 years earlier.
-----
3. "I Only Have Eyes for You" by The Flamingos
I heard this song for the first time at my senior prom. I was standing alone on a balcony, looking out at the streets of Hollywood, and I had this "cheesy teen movie moment". In that moment I knew that the feeling of loneliness in high school would be over soon and that I was about to start going for my dreams. Leaving behind people who didn't give me the time of day. I would soon evolve into a whole different person and my world would change. I was right!
-----
4. "And I Love Her" The Beatles
My earliest moment of having that ah ha feeling with music was this song. I was at least 5 or 6 years old, watching the movie "A Hard Day's Night" with my dad for the first time. Seeing Paul McCartney (my hero) sing on screen changed my life pretty much. I became obsessed with The Beatles and was shown a whole new world of music and other artists. The rest is history.
-------
5. "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac
This song is the definition of femininity. Pure feminine strength and passion radiates from it. You can't help but feel inspired, empowered, delicate but strong at the same time, and of course you feel like you wanna put on a shawl and twirl!
-----
(BONUS SONGS)
6. "Reasons for Waiting" by Jethro Tull
The VIOLINS at timestamp 2:22! Ughhh beauty.
-----
7. "Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra
A classic. Makes me wanna dance/walk slow down a staircase all dramatic like I'm in a musical. Just a feel good song but
the lyrics aren't happy I guess? Kinda strange that it makes me happy... hmmm. haha
------
8. "Long Time Gone" by CSNY but the live version featuring Tom Jones!
You can't go wrong with any CSNY and CSN song. All incredible. This performance though, look it up on YouTube! They definitely took the song to a whole new level with Tom Jones.
------
9. "She's Leaving Home" by The Beatles
Macca hitting me right in the feels pure usual. The orchestra... *chefs kiss*
------
10. "This Boy" by The Beatles
If you haven't noticed already, The Beatles are my all time favorite band. My first loves. I especially love me some early Beatles.
-----
11. "Passing Out Pieces" by Mac DeMarco
Another very "growing up moody sadness" kinda feel. "Watching my life passing right in front of my eyes. Hell of a story, oh is it boring?". "What mom don't know has taken its toll on me." "I'm passing out pieces of me, don't you know nothing comes free?"
-------
12. "The Warmth of The Sun" by The Beach Boys
Brian Wilson is obviously hands down a genius. We wouldn't have a lot of things if it wasn't for Brian.
-----
List the Top 5 songs you wish you'd written, and one reason why for each. (Any reason is viable!).
1. "Be Careful With Yourself" by Julia Jacklin
I feel like the universe knew I needed this song when it came out. Every lyric in this song, I've experienced. The conversations, feelings, everything. I should've written it first Julia!
-------
2. "Helplessness Blues" by Fleet Foxes
This song is exactly what it feels like to be a young artist who is trying to figure out who they are supposed to be. The lyric "Or bow down and be grateful and "say sure take all that you see" to the men who move only in dimly lit halls and determine my future for me". Ending the song with "Someday I'll be like the man on screen", that's the feeling we all had/have watching our music heroes on a tv or computer.
-------
3. "My Love" by Paul McCartney
The solo just hits hard every time!
-------
4. "Beyond The Veil" by Dylan LeBlanc
This is what I feel like I hear in my head constantly when writing and recording. The mixing, arrangment style, the drums,
the guitar tones, the string section backing him up. It's smooth like butter. Extremely inspiring for me.
-------
5. "Manhattan" by Sara Bareilles
It's such a heart wrenching song. "I'll bow out of place, to save you some space for somebody new. You can have manhattan, cause I can't have you." "And so it goes, one foot after the other, till black and white begin to color in."
------
(BONUS)
6. "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times " by The Beach Boys
"I keep looking for a place to fit in, Where I can speak my mind. And I've been trying hard to find the people that I won't leave behind. They say I got brains but they ain't doing me no good, I wish they could." Relatable.
----
List what you believe are the Top 5 Greatest Songs Ever Written, and one reason why for each.
1. "Us and Them" by Pink Floyd.
Ethereal, deep, the saxophone, the harmonies, Gilmour's vocals, it's truly perfect in my eyes and ears. "Us and them, and after all we're only ordinary men"
-----
2. "If I Can Dream" by Elvis Presley...THE KING!
I think this song speaks for itself. Just listen to the lyrics. Hear the emotions. Powerful.
------
3. "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys
The complexity of Pet Sounds and this song. Honestly in my opinion most of song on Pet Sounds
could be called "greatest songs ever".
----
4. "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney
Possibly the greatest love song of all time? "Maybe I'm amazed at the way I really need you"
------
5. "A Day In The Life" by The Beatles
The switch between gloomy and cheery is so unexpected but changed how we look at writing songs. Almost like a mini opera. I think we can all agree that the build at the end, which lands at the loud explosion of pianos, gives us all chills.
Such a genius idea.
-----
(BONUS)
6. "Moonlight Serenade" by Glenn Miller
A classic. Makes me nostalgic for a time I never experienced.
What instrument are you most proficient on? Also, do you sing at all (explain)?
I guess I'm at the same level for both guitar and bass?
How do you feel you learn best?
I'm definitely a visual learner! Words aren't enough for my brain.
Do you tend to envy other artists or feel competitive with them, or are you supportive of others?
Little bit of both. Everyone is their worst critic at the end of the day.
What are your 3 favorite artists of all time? And why?
1. PAUL MCCARTNEY
He is my comfort person. Paul is a very important voice and figure from my childhood and now adulthood. He's always someone I listen to when I need to tune out the world and fall back into that nostalgia of being a kid again, when I used to listen to Wings on my blue CD player and intensely watch the "McCartney Music Video DVD Collection" I got for Christmas when I was 7 or 8 years old.
2. The Beatles
Obviously my love for Paul McCartney is the exact same as my love for The Beatles. I mean come on, who doesn't love them?! I could go on and on about them. I'll save you the time though haha.
3. The Beach Boys
They are another band, just like The Beatles, that helped shape the music side of my brain. Their harmonies are like none other. Brian Wilson is like one of the top founding fathers of rock/pop music in my opinion. Changed the game definitely.
What emotions do you feel you most often feel the need to express through your artistic creativity?
Sadness, love, heartbreak, optimism
Is there one or more styles/genres of music that you despise/hate/can't stand?
I'm not a huge fan of the country music that's been around since the 2000's? I like Kacey Musgraves though. Her album "Golden Hour" inspired me a lot when I recorded my EP "Into The Blue".
.
Have your parents been supportive of your artistry?
YES! I'm extremely lucky and thankful that they support everything I do.
What are your thoughts or opinions on counseling/therapy/psychology?
Yes, yes, yes! We all need it honestly. If you are open and accept help, you'll benefit from it so much.
Music is very therapeutic too. You learn a lot about yourself writing.
What do you feel is the best thing about you as a person? The least best thing?
Best Thing; I'm very understanding of other. Sometimes that can bite me in the butt though.
Worst Thing: I let my insecurities get the best of me and control me a lot. The older I've gotten, the more I feel it.
Do you plan to make music your full-time career? Do you have a Plan-B in terms of a career choice? If so, what is it?
Yes! If I HAD to have a "Plan-B", it would be working at Disneyland probably haha
