Graveside History

Adam Watts

disrupted the earth . . . shoveled the dirt
had to look had to see . . . had to dig to the depth i buried me

pried open the coffin . . . and there i was laughing, crying, whining
stuck inside that cold blue misery
and I was stupid enough to think I was history . . . history

speaking the truth . . . trying to glue . . . every lie. all the pain . . . to the saner part of me

it was no use trying . . . I wasn't who I am now . . . couldn't even find out how

stuck inside that cold misery . . . Now I'm smart enough to know I was history
learning my graveside history
